Thai Heat Exchange Public Company Limited, THECO, was established in 1972 to venture into automobile air-conditioning. It started to import components from the US and manufactured evaporator unit under license of MARK IV USA.

Ever since the licensing agreement expired, THECO has been on its own to develop business, serving almost all European cars in Thailand on OEM basis and exporting to various countries in Asia. Today, export includes Australia, Middle East, Europe, Far East and USA.

Following the listing in the Stock Exchange of Thailand, SET, in 1991, THECO starts to invest heavily both in local market and overseas. During that golden year it was expanding the business overseas by formimg a joint venture company. In 1994 THECO's over 200 million new factory has been operation. It situates 36 km from Bangkok on Bang Na-Trad Highway. Over three decades of accumulated expertise and experience, THECO has been manufacturing quality condenser coils, evaporator coils for automobile and room air-conditioners and other application such as slab coils, cooler coils, heater coils, refrigeration coils , box air-conditioners, and cater to the various sectors of its large clientele.

  • 1972 Became a Limited Company with registered capital of 1 million Baht to produce air - conditioner part with the technical support of John E.Mitchel, U.S.A.Distribution was under the MARK IV trademark.

  • 1978 Contract with John E.Mitchel expired.Commenced independent production and started exporting to neighboring countries such as Singapore and Malaysia.

  • 1978 Became a sole distributor for Sanden Compressors.

  • 1987 Started production of coils for room air-conditioners.

  • 1991 Increased registered capital to 100 million Bath. 29 April 1991 - was listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Entered into joint investments in Indonesia, established P.T. MarkIndo Theco.

  • 1992 Registered capital was increased to 200 million Bath. Entered in joint invesments with Saden Corporation (Japan), Established Saden Theco Co.,Ltd. to produce air-conditioners for sale to "Japanese" car manufacturers in Thailand

  • 1993 Established Theco Sale Co.,Ltd. to manage its marketing activities.

  • 1994 Opened new factory at Wellgrow Industrial Estate on Bangna-Trad Road, K.M.36. Expanded the export market for car air-conditioners to include the U.S.A. Started production of air-conditioner motors,primary component in air-conditioners.This move lowered imports from overseas suppliers and initiated a further reduction in its production cost of air -conditioners. Became Publich Company at No.369

  • 1995 Export of locally produced motors to overseas markets. Also increased its production capacity to meet demands of the growing automobile industry.

  • 1997 Thailand and many Asian countries faced the terrible economic crisis. THECO adjusted itself to be more efficient and flexible. The new high technology of coil cleaning with the alkaline-based system was set up to add up the quality assurance to its buyers. This also led to the depletion of CFC in THECO factory

  • 1999 THECO achieved ISO 9002 certification for its production and operation by RW TUV of Germany. In the same year, MORNING STAR,the room air-conditioning system, was born to be a new product line of THECO

  • 2000 To strengthen its coils business for refrigeration market, THECO introduced in-line fin pitch pattern for mainly refrigeration application. THECO became the only one manufacturer of this kind of pitch pattern in Thailand.

  • 2001 With the strong confidence and support of financial institutes and shareholders, the registered capital of THECO increased to 492.7 million Baht. strengthening the company's financial position.

  • 2002 Production and operational have been up graded to achieve ISO 9001 Version 2000 certifild by RW Tuv of Germany, In the same year, registered capital was incrased again to read 619.855 million Baht being ready for expanding its line of room a/c.
